Hello. My feet are very flat and orthotics for a few years. I recently ran again, and though I wear orthotics, I'm getting shin splints very intense back (inside) of both legs. It is enough to keep me going, but sometimes I have to take a day off until the pain subsides.

Is there anything I can do to stop this pain? I enjoy driving and do not want any other sport. I am also quite heavy (~ 190 lbs, 5'3 female). I eat healthy, and often, but this problem will only get worse? Or is a great way to get my muscles stronger?
